Syracuse Contests And Deals-June 2012

Today I just wanted to do a fun post and point out some of the fun things available to you in the Syracuse area (and maybe some national stuff too). Those who know me know that I love entering contests often when I have time because you never know when it will pay off and you can’t win if you do not enter. With that in mind, here are some of the fun things I found (though sadly since I do live in the area, most of them I am not eligible to enter).

First off, let’s start with the two Syracuse/Central New York news sites. I just noticed syracuse.com has several on their site including tickets to the Brewerton and Fulton Speedways, a $50 gift card to Nice-N-Easy, a chance to win a $75 gift certificate to Phoebe’s in Syracuse using your Instagram photos, and lastly, a contest called 2012 SummerCuse Spectacular which you can pick from 6 different businesses to receive a gift from, including one of my Syracuse favorites, Tully’s. Or if you are just looking for some local coupons, you can also click here to see what they have.

There is also CNYCentral.com offering some very interesting contests. They are also giving away a $50 Nice-N-Easy gift card but this time it is for someone who is nominated as a Nice Person. They also have a pair of tickets to see Jersey Boys at the Landmark Theater, “Wayne’s Weather Deck Party” hosted by CNY’s Chief Meteorologist Wayne Mahar, and a two night getaway for 4 to Darien Lake sponsored by Meghan MacMurphy’s Pub & Restaurant. You can also find some great deals in their appropriately named CNYcentral Deals section.

The Syracuse New Times also has several contests including tickets to see Jim Gaffigan July 24, 7 pm at the Oncenter.

Cumulus Media, who it was just announced merged with CBS Radio and owns local stations including 93Q, 95X and The Score 1260, have a few 50/50 deals in place if you are interested in a photo session, martial arts and the Clay AppeThaizing location here.

Would you like national contests with bigger prizes? You can check the contest app on your Facebook page or you can check out my favorite contest website Lucky Contests. This site allows you to not only enter the contests but also share them on Facebook and Twitter if you know others who might be interested in trying. Their main page is updated with the newest contests at the top of the page and working its way down through several pages or you can click on a category if you just want to enter for vacations or sports giveaways. Most do not require any purchase and are from national brand names you can trust (some may require a code from their package and sometimes they include a free code to use).

One last thing to add if you are interested. Be sure to check out the Explore tab on Foursquare to see if any deals are around you. They have made some vast improvements on their app recently and you can find some great deals that way. It is not just for telling your friends where you are eating, it can be used to leave tips and find deals as well if used properly (I also like to use it to check in on road trips so my family can see how far along I am without having to call and explain my location). I know some give them a bad reputation kind of like Twitter saying that we do not need to share every little detail but that is kind of close minded and can cause you to miss out on some great deals and sharing experiences with friends.

That is about it for now. If you have some deal or offer in the Syracuse area that you would like others to know about, feel free to contact me on Twitter or email me at orangechucke@aol.com (yes I still have an AOL email).
